About the Department
Shia College is one of the premier institutions among the government aided colleges, affiliated to University of Lucknow. Spreading the light of knowledge to a large number of youth under the management and control of the the Board of Trustees of Shia College and Allied Institutions following the tradition of Islam as practiced by its prophet and his successor, the college has served the society. Since its very inception.
The teaching facilities of the college consists of post graduate classes in Science, Commerce, Arts, Computer Science and Mass Communication. Undergraduate classes in the faculties of Science, Arts, Law, Commerce and Management. BBA (I.B.) is running as a self finance course under Institute of Management Studies which is regulated by the Faculty of Commerce. Department is functioning from 2006. Admission process of starting batch was done via LUACMAT. Since from it's inception department has maintained high standards in teaching-learning process. Faculty members are well qualified fulfilling the UGC norms. Special lectures by renowned personalities from IIM's, IOCL, US Embassy and Lucknow University.
Infrastructure is well equipped with computer lab, library, Wi-Fi facility, big airy class rooms, playground etc. Students of the department are playing cricket from various clubs and affiliated to Lucknow Cricket Association.
Free study material is provided under Book Bank facility. Industrial visits are done on a regular basis. Students of the Department are placed in banks like Axis, PNB, SBI, Canara,
HDFC, ICICI- Bank, Life insurance and Prudential, Aditya Birla Life Insurance, Real State Companies and in HCL technologies etc. Students of the department has been selected in LEED's University, U.K., ICFAI, Pune, Amity University and Bharti Vidya Peeth, Pune.
Vision, Mission and Objective of the Department
The IMS Shia PG college offers three years degree course in Bachelor of Business Administration (International Business) affiliated to University of Lucknow.
The objective of BBA (I.B.) is to equip the students with the fundamentals of business processes universally accepted by the contemporary and multinational company, business schools of the world.
The multinational companies and the big corporate houses seeks for those individuals who are well versed with the International Business Management and could hire employees at cost effective basis as compared to MBA; candidates, so BBA (IB) candidates has an edge over Master’s degree of Management in Corporate world as far as Employees is concern.
To develop a core competence in international business a student is prepared for postgraduate Management Course as 70% of syllabus of MBA/MIBM is covered under BBA (IB).
