Legal Aid Clinic
Shia P.G. College provides the facility of free Legal Aid Clinic in its four-walls of the campus. The establishment of Legal Aid Clinic is driven by ethos of Article 39-A of the Constitution of India in which the concept of equal Justice and Free Legal Aid to the economically challenged people is promulgated. It is a clinic which provides free Legal Aid to the marginalized sections of the society. The ultimate aim of such endeavor is to provide Pro-Bono Legal representation and advice to the economically weak and down-trodden sections of the society. It is a student run initiative in its absoludity. One more problem which is being frequently realized among the poor people that they are not very much aware about their Constitutional rights, Legal rights and Human rights as well. Shia P.G. College Legal Aid Clinic is effectively doing good efforts to spread Legal awareness and Legal literacy among such pauper sections of the society by means of conducting seminars, visiting and making face to face interactions with people of these marginalized societies. The Clinic principally is driven and managed by our students under the regular supervision of Legal Aid Clinic Incharge. Legal Aid Clinic of Shia P.G. College has been engaged creating greater awareness among school children on various socio-economic problems like child labour, sexual harassment, protection of girl child and domestic violence, etc. Our Legal Aid Clinic has also sensitized the student community to the cause of down-trodden masses by inculcating the spirit of social responsibility and obligations within them.
The Free Legal Aid Clinic of Shia P.G. College adhere itself with the norms and regulations provided by the Bar Council of India regarding its establishment, constitution, functions and powers.
